Are we...useless?
The longer I've been playing GW the more I've found that my warrior (my favorite character) keeps on getting passed up in more and more groups. I'm not getting in with DPS nor am I considered a tank anymore...I wanna know what's the deal. I'd hate to be reduced to soloing all the high end areas.

No. In general warriors are very useful.
You might be doing something wrong or trying to go into the wrong place. If you are playing either godmode or earthshaker you should be able to find a place in a group provided it doesn't have warriors already. Just keep trying.
That said, we'd really have to know your build and what specifically you are trying to do to give you a better answer.
EDIT: Let's not let this devolve into a warrior bashing thread or a warrior vs sin thread. If you want to do that, try and find an active one and keep this productive. Useful and constructive criticisms are welcome.

Warriors are generally more difficult to play effectively than most classes. PUGs will always look for functional builds to play that require the least amount of skill, since it is difficult to gauge a player's skill before trying them out. Warriors are incredible in both PvP and PvE, you likely just need to run Earth Shaker, or Dragon Slash SY! nonsense to get into a decent PUG.
Best thing you can do though is join a guild that recognizes your ability.

I know, I'm just going by experience when I asked people not to do that.
Personally I'd go 12 str and 14 sword but I don't see why you'd be having any problems.

I'll try avoiding PUGs and see about getting into a nice guild and see how that goes.

Definately do this. The 5 adr breakpoint for DSlash is at 14 Sword, which will allow full adr recharge on hit.

You can try PvP with it, though in organized battles they seem to favor Axes or hammers more. But you do see swords in there.

With the MoP builds madness, you can do almost every elite zone in the game : DoA, FoW, Deep, Urgoz. UW is still a perma/necro thing but whatever, it's boring as hell.

Lets me ask you what campaigns you own?
If you own all campaigns warriors can match any profession in terms of DPS.
They are inferior to none.
Each profession is useful. No profession deserves bashing. If anyone here has negative remarks on any profession he/she does not know what he/she is talking about and should thus be ignored.
Warriors useless?? NO WAY!
Cheers have fun keep hacking.

Run dragon slash / save yourselves Godmode, don't be useless, either that or nuke with Hundred Blades / Mark of Pain and also don't be useless.
If groups are passing you up, either it means your build is useless to the team or you aren't leader.
Play pvp.

Warriors are very useful, both pve and pvp.
For Elite Area farms they are required these days. As for DPS that depends on your build (you might want to post it here so we can have a look).
The reason why you're refused in groups it's because maybe they need a special build.

As people have said already, Warriors certainly have their uses. However, there also tends to be a lot of other Warriors around and they tend to be of *ahem* more variable quality than any other profession except possibly Monk (and there are enough people that think hero monks aren't worth taking that monks will always be in demand), so competition and uncertainty may be working against you.
If you're using the party search window, it might be worth advertising the build(s) you're looking to run - that both helps distinguish you from other Warriors and makes you more of a known quantity by showing that you know what you're doing well enough that you're not just running something random. (It certainly seems to work with my Mesmer - I tend to manage to find parties while other Mesmers who simply check the "Seek Party" box without entering any text stay on the sidelines.)
I'd be interested in your experience, since I'm considering running my Warrior through the zaishen missions once my Mesmer has Legendary Guardian.

where exactly are you trying to join a group? uw? fow? zqs?
generally, most sc (speedclear) groups are either permas or 600/smites. uw teams don't have warriors, but fow teams do (http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Build:Team_-_FoW_Manly_Spike).
in terms of pugs for zqs and general gameplay, whenever i form groups i tend to have a 1 frontline - 5 midline - 2 backline composition. other groups may have 2-3 frontline max. there are always a ton of warriors, so its hard to compete for a spot on a pug. as well, wars have to compete with sins and dervs for the frontline spot, so you got even more competition.
i'd recommend (if it is for zqs) that you learn how to form groups yourself--and no, this does not involve blind inviting every person in the district. being able to form groups is especially useful skill for a war, as generally you will also be needing to lead your team during the mission as well. this means you'll have to be familiar with the mission. i hate forming a group on my monk, and my frontline is so clueless that i end up having to be in the front and guide the team the whole way through.

I use the godmode build the Marty suggested in his guide. I have all 3 campaigns. I've aways been a sword or hammer guy (I just have the most fun with those builds and it seems to work for me) and I'll try using the party window more effectively. as for my experience...that's hard to say. I've played gw for quite a while and I seem to do alright, I just mostly go out with my heroes and maybe a few henchies if needs be.

I used to feel the same way Grey, but I haven't had a problem grouping in a while now.
DSlash+SY! Godmode is what I generally run (especially if my wife is in the party - she carries multiple Major/Sup runes despite my efforts to explain why they aren't a good idea - and the +100AL helps her tons), and I have a blast maintaining KD-lock on enemies even when FGJ! isn't up.
Earth Shaker builds own face.
